Term 2 is about to begin for 2020 and we at Advanced Education, like many other schools/education centres, are trying to adapt to the current COVID-19 situation. Despite the government’s recommendation that schools should remain open, we have decided at this stage to continue our tuition classes exclusively online. Our curriculum and timetable remains unchanged but we will not be holding physical classes at St Mary’s college anymore until further notice. We understand the challenges students, parents and teachers face with switching to online teaching but we also think this is the safest and most appropriate modality at this point in time. We will return with physical classes in the future once it is 100% safe to do so.
The advantages of online tuition sessions include:
1. No risk of community transmission of COVID-19 for our students and teachers
2. No travel time for students and parents to physically attend classes
3. Students are already familiar with online classes as most schools have adapted this system recently
We are currently using Google Classroom for our online classes with success and recommend all current and future students to have a google account in preparation for sessions. Alternatively we are also offering private online tutoring options for year 11 and 12 SACE Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects.
